Yellow is the ANSI Z535 and OSHA 1910.145 Caution color for a potential minor or moderate-injury hazard. It has the highest daytime visibility and is instantly read as "caution," so a yellow caution wet floor sign is recognized quickly.

Whenever the floor is or may be wet and slippery. For example, mopping, spills, leaks, tracked-in rain or snow, or a freshly cleaned area are all suggested use-cases. Use a portable standing sign or cone for temporary wet floors and a permanent anti-slip floor sign where the floor is routinely slippery. Remove temporary signs once the floor dries to keep the warning credible.
